Biography Shimozawa, Kihachirô (1901 - 1984)

Kihachirô Shimozawa's family name was Shimoyama until 1935. Before WWII he belonged to Hiratsuka Un'ichi's circle, and in fact it was he who introduced Munakata Shikô, who like him was also born in Aomori Prefecture, to Hiratsuka. He was a member of two important Hanga groups, the Nihon Sôsaku-Hanga Kyôkai and the Nihon Hanga Kyôkai. He is mainly known for his landscape prints.
