Biography Hirota Masahisa (1927 - ?)
Hirota Masahisa was born in Osaka in 1927. He studied literature at the Doshisha University in Kyoto. After his graduation he started a study in painting, and after that he embarked on copperplate engraving. One of his teachers was Maeda Toshirō. In 1971 he received the “Newcomer Award”, and since then he has participated in exhibitions all over Japan, next to having one-man shows.
