Biography Enami Shirô (1901 - ?)

Enami Shiro was a member of "Han no Kai", the greeting card exchange group led by Takei Takeo. He contributed prints to the Sôsaku Hanga magazines, "Shiro to Kuro" in 1931-34, "Han Geijutsu" in 1932-34. He participated in the first exhibition of the Nihon Hanga Kyôkai in 1931. His subjects include landscapes of Tokyo and toys. In 1989 a hardbound catalogue of his work was published: Enami Shirô mokuhanga shû - Collected woodblock prints by Enami Shirô,
