Technique:colours on silk
Condition:Chûberi (middle part) of brown silk brocade, top & bottom of beige silk. Beige&gold ichimonji and futai, bone rollers. Original wooden box, titled, inscribed, signed and sealed by the artist. Very good overall condition.

Literature:Gagaku music and Bugaku dance are largely unknown, even in Japan. They were performed to select elites mostly in Japanese imperial courts for over twelve hundred years, though after WWII they have come more into the open.
