Yorozu, Tetsugorō (1885 - 1927)

Lying nude
Paper size: 39 x 32.8 cm. Printed in 1923 (date – Taisho 12 – carved in the block). This print is related to an almost identical oil painting in the Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art in Fukuoka prefecture, also dated 1923. I do not know if the print preceded the painting or vice versa. There also exists a smaller, undated version of this print.

Very good impression, good condition: there is some toning, mainly on the back of the print, probably the result of an acid folder (see detail1).
